CAEP support

Zambia enhanced the scope of sectors captured by the mitigation targets and developing indicators that that will enable the country track progress on adaptation targets.

CAEP supported mitigation analysis for three additional sectors (transport, coal and liquid waste).
Additional focused on supporting the Country-wide Vulnerability Assessment and Risk Projection, determined ecosystems, infrastructure, livelihoods and communities at risk. This analysis informed the scope of the adaptation targets and helped identify short, medium and long-term indicators for reporting on adaptation actions, support and results.

CAEP support

Zambia’s NDC enhanced its information and assessment through significant capacity building, which also fed into the enhancement of its MRV system and NDC financing structures.

Technical and capacity building support to deliver analysis on Enhancing Energy Statistics and tracking CO2 emissions from fossil fuel combustion.
CAEP supported the Government of Zambia in integrating the NDC MRV system to the Central Statistics Office for national reporting and communication of projections.
Supported a pipeline of NDC funding project proposals through a collaborative process.
