In addition to enhancing mitigation targets, the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) started developing its National Adaptation Plan (NAP).

CAEP worked closely with the national Adaptation Working Group to devise realistic mechanisms for scope and implementation of adaptation activities.

The NDC update enhanced monitoring system and plans for a long-term climate finance strategy.

CAEP supported the design of a capacity building program for coordination and strengthening of RMI’s procedures for inter-agency coordination.
CAEP supported consultations with relevant officials from Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Environment in order to design the Climate Finance Grants Mechanism.
CAEP provided technical assistance to finalize and validate the overarching set of indicators for set mitigation and adaptation targets, to form the basis of the overarching M&E System, as well as a related greenhouse gas MRV system.
