CAEP support

Gambia’s NDC covers additional mitigation and adaptation sectors and gasses, including transport, forestry, and industrial gasses.

CAEP supported the formulation of actions in the energy sector which were included in the revised NDC. The technical support included a cost-effectiveness analysis to identify 8 mitigation measures with the highest greenhouse gas (GHG) abatement potential in the power sector. Results were validated through two in-country workshops with local stakeholders.

CAEP support

The Government of Gambia set out its 5-year implementation plan, strengthening its enabling environment for implementation through institutional arrangements, governance coordination and monitoring capacity.

CAEP supported the NDC implementation, which encompasses sectoral actions, institutional arrangements, and coordinating parties. It also outlines elements that will feed into the M&E framework, such as targets, baselines, key performance indicators, and responsibility for M&E tracking and reporting.
CAEP supported the development of a virtual MRV tool which allowed Gambia to track NDC progress and report to UNFCCC more effectively. The work improved methods, data, and information quality for NDC MRV.
