CAEP support

NDC quality has been enhanced through identification of bankable projects to secure funding for NDC implementation, as well as development of the MRV system. CAEP support included:

• providing capacity building on securing financing for bankable projects.
• Technical assistance to develop an accounting, communication, monitoring, reporting and verification tool.

Quality was improved through various CAEP supported assessments including:

• A carbon abatement assessment;
• Gender assessment of existing climate planning/policy/ and reporting instruments;
• Assessment of cost benefit and macro-economic impacts of proposed measures.

CAEP support

NDC process has been enhanced through ensuring greater inclusion and increased awareness for women and vulnerable groups in national action around climate change.

• Incorporated a climate change thematic topic in the National Gender Policy.
• Supported preparation of a social media to share to raise awareness amongst the public of climate change issues and the governments plan to address them.
